Editor Arrested Following Exhibition Protest

Lajme Gazeta Express editor, Ag Apolloni, has been arrested following a protest sparked by an exhibition that drew criticism. The exhibition was based on a monograph examining the massacres in Kosovo. The creator of the exhibition acknowledged an error after a significant public reaction.

The event, along with the accompanying book and its promotion, had reportedly received support from the government. This led to a counter-movement, with critics positioning themselves against the book, the creator, and the current government. The Prosecutor’s Office intervened in the situation, marking a second point of contention.

The intervention was justified under Article 141 of the Kosovo Criminal Code, which addresses inciting hatred and division between national groups. Apolloni, along with two other individuals involved in the protest, are currently in police custody. Details surrounding the case remain limited as authorities investigate the circumstances.
