Albania Confirms Security Plans Remain Unchanged Following NATO Discussions in Kosovo
Albanian Minister of Defense, Ermal Nufi, affirmed that there have been no alterations to KFOR’s security plans in Kosovo following meetings with key NATO officials. Nufi’s statement comes after a series of discussions held in Brussels with the General Secretary of NATO, Mark Rutte, and the Chairman of NATO’s Military Committee, Giuseppe Vaco Dragone. During these meetings, Nufi expressed concerns regarding the current security level within Kosovo and the broader region.
He detailed these concerns following a separate meeting with Kosovo Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci. Following the bilateral discussion, Minister Maqedonci indicated that the conversation centered on bolstering military capabilities and strengthening cooperation in the defense sector between Albania and Kosovo. The pair also explored potential advancements in the defense industry.
“We also discussed the possibilities of deepening cooperation in other areas including the defense industry,” Maqedonci stated. The meetings underscore ongoing efforts to maintain stability and security within Kosovo, as outlined in existing KFOR plans.
