Electoral Commission: Around 12,000 votes for people with disabilities

The Central Election Commission (CEC) commenced the vote counting process for ballots received from the diaspora on Friday evening, a procedure anticipated to continue over several days. According to CEC spokesperson Valmir Elezi, the commission has gathered over 85,700 ballot packages from the 23 mailboxes established for this specific voting method. A significant portion of these ballots has already been processed by the CEC voting service and is prepared for the official count.

Following the conclusion of the postal vote tabulation, the commission will proceed with the counting of ballots cast by absentee and special needs voters. The vote count for candidates will determine the final outcomes and assess the mandate security for various candidates. Absentee voting was facilitated at 52 polling stations, engaging 8,751 voters.

For individuals with special needs, the voting process was managed through dedicated mobile teams. The CEC is systematically working through these different categories of votes to finalize the electoral results.
