Kosovo Correction Service Head Dies Following Tractor Accident
Granit Sherifi, the head of the Kosovo Correction Service, died tragically on Tuesday as a result of injuries sustained in a tractor accident. According to authorities, Mr. Sherifi was involved in the incident and was subsequently transported to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK) for medical treatment.
Flora Ahmeti, spokesperson for the Pristina Police, confirmed that despite medical efforts, Mr. Sherifi succumbed to his injuries. “The Police, in coordination with the prosecutor’s office, is investigating the case as a suspected death and taking all necessary investigative measures to fully illuminate the circumstances surrounding this event,” she stated.
The lifeless body of Mr. Sherifi was sent for autopsy to determine the precise cause of death. The Kosovo Correction Service issued a telegram of condolences to the family and colleagues of Mr.
Sherifi, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of a valued member. The circumstances surrounding the tractor accident are currently under investigation. Authorities are working to determine the sequence of events leading up to the incident.
