Five Cases of Family Violence Reported in Kosovo
Kosovo police reported five cases of family violence within the past 24 hours, according to a statement released on April 26, 2026. The incidents occurred across four municipalities: Pristina, Podujevë, Pejë, and Gjakuve. As a result of these reported cases, four individuals have been taken into custody.
In Pristina, two separate incidents were investigated. One involved a male and female Kosovar citizen suspected of engaging in a physical altercation following a disagreement. Both individuals were subsequently released by order of the prosecutor and the case remains under regular investigation.
A second incident in Pristina involved a Kosovar man accused of physically assaulting a Kosovar woman after a dispute. The victim received medical attention following the assault. The remaining two cases occurred in Podujevë and Pejë.
