Five Individuals Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges

Police apprehended five individuals yesterday on charges related to domestic violence incidents across North Macedonia. The arrests occurred on May 1, 2026, following reports of assaults. In Kumanova, a 57-year-old man, identified as M.D., was arrested at approximately 11:40 PM by police officers from the local SPB (Police Department) following an assault on his 28-year-old daughter.

Separately, in Ohrid, a 48-year-old man, I.K. from Ljubljana, Slovenia, was taken into custody at approximately 8:40 PM. The arrest followed a complaint alleging physical assault against his wife stemming from a verbal dispute within a residence on Makedonski Prosvetiteli Boulevard.

Furthermore, police from the Strumica SPB arrested a 36-year-old resident of Strumica at approximately 4:00 PM. The cases are currently being investigated by the MPB (Prosecutor’s Office). All five individuals are facing charges related to domestic violence.

Investigations are ongoing.
