Former Zelensky aide suspected in major corruption investigation

Investigation Launched Against Former Presidential Staff Head Yermak

Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) are conducting a significant investigation into alleged corruption involving Andriy Yermak, the former head of the Ukrainian president’s staff. The investigation, ongoing between 2021 and 2025, centers around a luxury real estate development project near Kyiv and is suspected of facilitating money laundering. Investigators have uncovered evidence of an organized group potentially involved in laundering approximately 9 million euros (460 million hryvnia).

According to a joint statement released by the agencies, a former associate of Yermak – previously the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine – has been placed under suspicion. Andriy Yermak was a close advisor to President Volodymyr Zelensky prior to his removal from the position earlier this year. The investigation is being handled by NABU and SAPO, focusing on financial transactions related to the real estate development.

Authorities are examining the project’s financial dealings as part of their broader efforts to combat corruption within the Ukrainian government. The investigation remains active as authorities continue to gather evidence and pursue potential legal action.
