A truck caught fire on the “Ibrahim Rugova” highway on Tuesday, April 8, 2026. The incident occurred on the Suharekë-Duhël route, part of the wider highway. Police responded to reports of a vehicle fire involving a truck and a passenger.
According to Shaqir Bytyqi, spokesperson for the Pristina Regional Police, a citizen contacted emergency services after the driver and one passenger expressed concern. At approximately 12:25 local time, police received information about the fire on the Suharekë–Duhel road (on the highway). The Prizren Radio Base immediately notified the Suharekë Police Station to dispatch firefighters and a police patrol to the scene.
Emergency services were alerted to the situation. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Further details are pending.
