Multiple Arrests Following Domestic Violence Incidents
Recent reports from the Ministry of Interior (MPB) indicate four cases of domestic violence have been identified and resulted in the deprivation of liberty for three individuals over the past 24 hours. On May 1, 2026, at approximately 01:30 in Ohrid, officers from the Ohrid State Border Police (SPB) detained B.D. (55), a resident of Veles, following a warrant issued by authorities.
The arrest stemmed from a report filed by his 21-year-old ex-girlfriend alleging physical assault against him and their child at their shared residence in Ohrid. Following the incident’s documentation, a prosecutor will be involved in the proceedings. Separately, on May 2, 2026, at 18:00 in Sveti Nikollë, police officers from the NJPB Sveti Nikollë deprived a 50-year-old man of his liberty based on a preliminary arrest warrant provided by his 55-year-old wife.
The report detailed an assault occurring at the family home in Sveti Nikollë. The MPB confirmed that investigations are ongoing into all four incidents. Authorities are proceeding with standard protocols following the documentation of each case.
