Political Parties Spent Over €660,000 in Pre-Election Campaign
Four major political parties in the country invested over €660,000 during a 12-day campaign period leading up to the December 28th early elections. Financial reports, submitted to the Central Election Commission and currently unaudited, detail the expenditure by the Democratic League (LDK), Vetëvendosje, the Democratic Party, and the Alternative Party (AAK). Approximately 66 percent of the total expenditure, amounting to over €435,000, was allocated to advertising, representation activities, and the organization of conferences.
The Democratic League topped the spending list with €175,000 dedicated to advertising. Vetëvendosje followed with €145,000, while the Democratic Party recorded €83,000 in advertising costs and AAK spent €31,000. Further analysis reveals significant differences in fundraising efforts.
The LDK reported the lowest income during the campaign, collecting only €1,000. AAK followed with €20,000, while Vetëvendosje raised €104,000 and the Democratic Party garnered €83,000. These figures highlight the considerable financial investment made by the four parties in their campaigns.
