U.S. Ambassador Whitaker Visits Kosovo to Discuss Regional Security

PRISHTINA – On Tuesday, United States Ambassador to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, undertook a visit to Kosovo, meeting with key government officials to address ongoing regional security concerns. Ambassador Whitaker was received in a meeting by Acting President Albulena Haxhiu and Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

During the discussions, the focus centered on current political developments within Kosovo and broader security issues impacting the region. The importance of sustained collaboration between NATO allies was also a key element of the conversations. According to a Facebook post by President Haxhiu, she expressed gratitude for the longstanding support provided by the United States to Kosovo.

She also conveyed appreciation for Ambassador Whitaker’s dedication to bolstering the strategic partnership and enhancing security within the area. “I expressed my gratitude for the unwavering support that the United States has given to Kosovo over the years, as well as appreciation for Ambassador Whitaker’s commitment to strengthening our strategic partnership and security in the region,” Haxhiu stated. The meeting underscores the continued engagement of the United States in supporting Kosovo’s stability and security within the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
