Haradinaj Commemorates Sali Çekaj and Brigade 138 Heroes
At the Memorial Academy honoring Sali Çekaj, leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj paid tribute to the late figure on the anniversary of his death. The event recognized Çekaj’s contributions to the freedom of Brigade 138 “Agim Ramadani.”
Haradinaj highlighted Çekaj’s role as a pioneering fighter and patriot, emphasizing his significant impact on national movements and the development of strategic military thinking. He noted that Çekaj died heroically 27 years prior, alongside a group of fellow combatants.
These included Shefqet Mustafaj, Mejdi Korrani, Luan Gashi, Ilir Hoxha, Hysni Temaj, Izet Morina, Bejtë Kajdomçaj, Aziz Gashi, Afrim Stajku, Fatos Limani, Fisnik Ibrahimi, and Leonard Palucaj. “They fell to remain forever in the memory of the people and the state of Kosovo,” Haradinaj stated during the commemoration. Furthermore, Haradinaj also honored the heroes of Brigade 136 “Rugova,” acknowledging their service and sacrifice.
The ceremony served as a solemn remembrance of those who contributed to the struggle for Kosovo’s freedom.
