Hyundai Issues Multiple Recalls Affecting Over 1.1 Million Vehicles
Hyundai is facing scrutiny following a series of recalls impacting a significant number of its vehicles. To date in 2026, the manufacturer has issued eight recalls affecting over 1.1 million vehicles, prompting safety concerns among consumers. A substantial portion of these recalls centered around the Palisade SUV.
In January, Hyundai initiated a recall for over 568,000 previous-generation Palisades due to a defect in the center-mounted curtain airbags. The malfunction posed a risk of incorrect deployment. Further complicating matters, Hyundai recently issued a recall for the newer Palisade model.
This recall stems from a design flaw within the electric rear seats, which were found to pose a serious safety hazard. Tragically, this issue was linked to the death of a child. Consequently, Hyundai temporarily suspended sales of the Palisade while the issue was addressed.
These recalls highlight the importance of ongoing vehicle safety measures and underscore Hyundai’s commitment to addressing potential risks within its vehicle fleet. Investigations are ongoing, and Hyundai is working to implement corrective actions across the affected vehicles.
