North Macedonia Reports No Presence of Contested HiPP Cereal

The Food and Veterinary Agency (FVA) of North Macedonia announced today that no HiPP cereal product subject to recall in Austria and several European nations has been distributed within the country. The statement addresses concerns regarding the 190-gram tin of carrot and potato-flavored HiPP cereal. The FVA confirmed it had not received any alerts through the European Rapid Alert System (RASFF) concerning the specific product.

This follows investigations initiated in Austria and other European countries regarding potential safety issues. Currently, the agency is actively monitoring the situation. A written notification has been sent to HIPP’s authorized distributor in North Macedonia, clarifying that the contested product was not imported into the country.

This proactive measure ensures the market remains secure. The FVA indicated they will take appropriate action if any further information or concerns arise. The agency’s vigilance underscores its commitment to food safety standards within North Macedonia.

The investigation into the HiPP product remains ongoing in other European nations.
