Man Convicted in Fatal Assault, Drug Involvement Following Multiple Arrests
In 2023, following the arrest of multiple individuals including Kaleb Mickens and Cash Cartier, authorities declared Sheila Cuevas a fugitive. According to a statement released by the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office, Mickens, 34, pleaded guilty to first-degree felony assault with deadly force, which included the fatal assault and drugging of a victim. Furthermore, Mickens was sentenced to an additional 20 years in prison for violating previous terms of supervised release related to a prior aggravated assault charge.
He also received a 15-year sentence for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Dallas County. The District Attorney’s Office confirmed that these cases were linked to other instances of domestic violence involving Mickens. On the day of Sheila Cuevas’ death, Mickens contacted 911.
The investigation led to the arrest of Mickens and several other individuals involved in a series of criminal activities. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Cuevas’ death and any potential connections to other victims.
