Statements regarding the protection of Milan Radoičiqi by the serbian Gendarmerie have been the subject of recent discussion. The issue gained prominence following an Interpol red notice issued for Radoičiqi related to the armed attack in Banjska i Zvečan. President Aleksandar Vučić addressed the matter, asserting that he has taken a keen interest in the situation.
He publicly claimed that members of the serbian Gendarmerie are not providing protection to Radoičiqi. This assertion was echoed by Radoslav Repac, the commander of the special police unit, according to reports cited by KosovaPress via REL. Authorities in Serbia have formally denied media reports suggesting that Radoičiqi, or his former business partner from Kosovo, Zvonko Veselinović, are being shielded by members of the Gendarmerie.
However, conflicting accounts have emerged. Slavica Radovanović, a retired police colonel, informed Radio Free Europe that details concerning the serbian Gendarmerie remain classified as a “state secret.”
These conflicting statements highlight a divergence between official governmental denials and reports suggesting ongoing complexities surrounding the individuals under the scope of the Interpol notice. The government’s stance, supported by the unit commander, maintains that the security forces are not interfering with Radoičiqi’s status, while other sources suggest the information surrounding the unit’s actions is restricted.
