A Kosovo police officer with a prior criminal record involving domestic violence was arrested in Pejë by the Inspectorate of Police and Kosovo (IPK). The arrest followed a report to the IPK police department from the municipality of IPK. According to the initial report, the police officer was identified as a target of investigation related to domestic disturbances.
The IPK stated that they were unaware of the ongoing investigation and that the victim had not been interviewed. Following the arrest, the police officer was held briefly before being released after the IPK informed the prosecutor’s office about a 48-hour suspension of the investigation.
