The prevailing strategy, as outlined by educational leaders, is not to restrict the technology but rather to redefine the human element’s ultimate authority over its use. Consequently, the primary role of the educational sector is to establish a robust framework and guide the appropriate manner of incorporating these powerful tools.
This commitment is being formalized through comprehensive policy instruments, including the National Education Strategy 2026–2032. Through these documents, the educational system aims to cultivate a digitally mature environment. The goal is to equip young people with the skills necessary to utilize emerging technologies responsibly and creatively.
This capability is intended to support multifaceted outcomes, ranging from enhancing personal development and fostering civic engagement to driving broader social progress. Minister of Education and Science, Prof. Dr.
Vesna Janevska, emphasized this necessity during a panel discussion held at the Faculty of Engineering in Skopje. The session, titled “Redesigning Higher Education and Universities: Artificial Intelligence and Collaboration,” highlighted the need for systemic adaptation. The discussion underscored that while AI represents a significant technological shift, the curriculum’s evolution must center on critical thinking and ethical deployment.
The Ministry’s efforts signal a proactive approach, positioning education as the steward that guides students to become proficient, ethical users of advanced digital capabilities.
