Besa Kabashi-Ramaja, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) candidate for deputy, has publicly stated that her party maintains a commitment to the established institutions of Kosovo. Addressing the potential for post-election political cooperation, Kabashi emphasized the PDK’s readiness to engage in discussions with various Albanian political parties. While affirming this general openness, Kabashi noted that significant differences currently exist between the PDK and the Vetëvendosje Movement (VV).
Speaking on the possibility of coalition building, she clarified the PDK’s policy framework, asserting that the party does not maintain any ideological red lines concerning dialogue with Albanian political entities. According to Kabashi-Ramaja, the PDK’s foundational principle remains institutionalism, ensuring respect for Kosovo’s governing structures regardless of the political outcome. She stated that the party remains open to dialogue, asserting that its policy stance does not preclude discussions with other parties.
However, she also made it clear that the PDK perceives a substantial divergence in ideology and operational approach when comparing itself to the VV. “The PDK will always be institutionalist; it will respect the institutions of Kosovo. It is open to discussions; we do not have red lines with Albanian parties,” Kabashi remarked.
She concluded by noting that, despite the openness to dialogue, the PDK currently sees no shared ground with the structure, function, or specific political positions advocated by the Vetëvendosje Movement. These statements outline the PDK’s measured approach to post-electoral politics, balancing institutional loyalty with a willingness to negotiate while maintaining clear distinctions from rival political groups.
