Albania’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs confirmed it is maintaining continuous communication with the authorities of Croatia and Montenegro to accelerate border crossings. According to albinfo.ch, the substantial volume of vehicles at the border points situated between Croatia and Montenegro has resulted in extended wait times for numerous emigrants traveling to Kosovo and other regional destinations. In response to reports indicating delays, some exceeding fifteen hours, the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania stated that it is actively monitoring the situation.
Furthermore, the ministry confirmed its cooperation with the relevant authorities to facilitate the passage of travelers. The prolonged congestion at the border crossing points is impacting the movement of emigrants intending to travel through the region. Authorities are reportedly engaged in efforts to streamline procedures to reduce the significant wait times experienced by those crossing from Albania towards Montenegro and beyond.
The focus remains on ensuring a more efficient passage for all emigrants utilizing the border infrastructure connecting the countries.
