The Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) has announced a planned shutdown of unit A4 at the Kosovo A Thermal Power Plant tonight, scheduled to begin around midnight. The shutdown is due to identified issues with a condenser. According to KEK’s professional assessment, continuing operation under these conditions could lead to further damage.
Therefore, the controlled shutdown is being viewed as a preventative measure to protect the integrity of the unit and avoid serious malfunctions. KEK has notified all relevant institutions in advance of this development. Currently, KEK operates with three generating units: B2 at TC Kosova B and A3 and A4 at TC Kosova A.
This configuration ensures power supply.
