The Kosovo Commission for Legislation and the parliamentary committee interviewed 23 candidates for positions on the Kosovo Judicial Council on Tuesday and Wednesday. The interviews were part of the selection process for new members of the council. Applications were reviewed by the commission prior to scheduling the interviews.
Besnik Tahiri, an MP for the Aleanca for the Republic of Kosovo, has not yet been interviewed as part of the process. Tahiri announced on Facebook that he is awaiting the completion of the selection process and intends to pursue legal action. He stated his intention to demand the process be halted and his release from pre-trial detention.
“Today, the Commission for Legislation, after reviewing the applications, has scheduled the interviews of candidates for members of the Kosovo Judicial Council. On Tuesday and Wednesday, 23 candidates will be interviewed,” Tahiri posted on Facebook. The process is ongoing as the committee continues its work in selecting new members for the Kosovo Judicial Council.
