Konjufca Reaffirms Kosovo’s Readiness for EU Candidate Status

Bratislava, Slovakia – Deputy First Minister and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Glauk Konjufca, participated in a meeting of Foreign Ministers focused on the “Friends of the Western Balkans and EU Partners” initiative, held at Bratislava Castle on May 13, 2026. The event, organized by Slovak Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs Juraj Blanár, brought together delegations from 13 countries, including European Commission Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos. During the forum’s opening session, which centered on gradual integration and regional cooperation, Minister Konjufca addressed the assembled representatives.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Konjufca reiterated Kosovo’s continued readiness to pursue country candidate status within the European Union.
