Kurti to be president from VV, opposition accusations of noise and bubbles: Let them find someone better than Glauk Konjufca

Kurti Announces Presidential Candidacy, Criticizes Opposition Engagement

Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti has confirmed Vetëvendosje’s (Self-Determination) intention to nominate him for the role of president. This announcement follows accusations from the opposition parties of unproductive “noise and empty words.” Kurti responded by asserting Vetëvendosje’s belief that the presidency should be held by their party. During a recent meeting, Kurti outlined discussions with the LDK and the PDK, detailing offers made for both a governing coalition and a leadership shift within the Assembly.

He expressed disappointment with the PDK’s apparent lack of interest in reaching agreements, characterizing it as detrimental to the state of Kosovo. “Regarding a change of leadership in the Assembly for the PDK, they simply don’t seem willing or interested in agreements, and this is a great damage to the state of Kosovo,” Kurti stated. The Prime Minister’s comments directly address ongoing negotiations with the opposition, highlighting what he perceives as a lack of commitment to consensus-building.

The situation remains unresolved as Vetëvendosje continues to pursue its vision for the country’s leadership.
