Kurt’s offer to PDK for the Speaker’s position, Hoxhaj: That’s not something we accept.

PDK Declines Speaker Offer, Blames Kurti for Political Crisis

Prishtina – Deputy leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDK), Enver Hoxhaj, has stated that his party has no intention of holding the position of Speaker of Parliament, rejecting an offer made by Prime Minister Albin Kurti. Speaking to Kosovapress, Hoxhaj characterized the offer as “unserious,” citing the conclusion of the process for electing the President as a key factor. Hoxhaj attributed the current political crisis primarily to Prime Minister Kurti, arguing that “we go because Mr.

Kurti does not have the will to govern” following the recent elections. He emphasized the potential for further instability, warning of a “permanent institutional conflict” resulting from a lack of dialogue and compromise. “The country weakens internally and externally,” Hoxhaj asserted, highlighting the detrimental impact of the ongoing impasse on democratic processes.

He underscored the importance of finding solutions through negotiation, stating that the refusal to engage constructively is damaging the overall stability of Kosovo. The rejection of the offer to become speaker represents a significant development in the ongoing political standoff, with Hoxhaj’s party continuing to maintain its stance regarding Kurti’s leadership.
