LDM: Protest against the political motivation of the judiciary, not to be executed as a punishment

The Democratic League of Macedonia (LDM) staged a protest in Skopje, voicing concerns over ongoing student demonstrations and calling for a reform of the country’s political system. The LDM criticized the Democratic Union for Integration (UDI) for alleged abuse of its rights during the administration of the jurisprudence exam. They argued that the UDI inappropriately utilized the Macedonian language when overseeing the exam, particularly concerning students affiliated with the ruling parties.

The LDM emphasized the Macedonian language’s status as the state language of North Macedonia. They highlighted that Albanian is also an officially recognized language, and ethnic Albanian citizens are entitled to utilize it fully under the constitution. The LDM contends that the exam process was marred by corruption and political influence, specifically targeting students connected to the governing parties.

They reiterated the importance of upholding the rights of all citizens, particularly regarding language usage.
