Opposition Party Claims Government Deadline for Reforms Nears as Criticism Continues
Skopje – The opposition United Socialist Party of Macedonia (LDSM) asserts that nineteen days remain until a self-imposed deadline set by the Mickoski Government to address its lack of progress on key reforms. The LDSM contends that despite claims of concrete achievements within the Reform Agenda, the reality remains one of stagnation. According to LDSM representatives, there have been no substantive reforms implemented, resulting in no discernible progress or tangible outcomes for citizens.
They highlight ongoing political disputes and justifications for the government’s inability to enact necessary changes. Timco Mucunski, a government spokesperson, has previously stated that the administration is realizing positive results within the reform process. However, the LDSM disputes this assessment, arguing it is a deliberate tactic to deflect attention from the government’s failure to deliver.
Specifically, the LDSM criticizes Prime Minister Mickoski for escalating tensions with Bulgaria, alleging he is creating new conflicts rather than pursuing constructive solutions. The party maintains that the government’s approach is prioritizing public condemnation over genuine progress. The LDSM continues to emphasize the absence of reforms as a central point of contention.
