LDK MP Claims Kurti is Orchestrating Early Elections
Prishtina – Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) MP Jehona Lushaku has asserted that Prime Minister Albin Kurti is deliberately pursuing early elections. In a statement, Lushaku criticized Kurti’s approach, citing a recent video released by the Prime Minister alongside accusations and what she described as “blackmail.”
Lushaku argued that Kurti initiated a campaign prematurely and has overseen a failure in governance, leading to a crisis of power previously entrusted to citizens. She questioned Kurti’s handling of the ongoing presidential impasse, stating that his unwillingness to compromise is detrimental to democratic principles.
“Why, Albin?!” Lushaku questioned, attributing the situation to governmental failings. “The government has failed, and the issue of the president remains unresolved due to a lack of willingness to compromise.”
The Prime Minister has reportedly offered coalition proposals to the LDK and PDK, but Lushaku rejected them, emphasizing the need for a resolution regarding the presidential election. The LDK MP contends that Kurti’s stance equates compromise with weakness, rather than a demonstration of democratic leadership.
This statement from Lushaku comes amid ongoing political tensions surrounding the selection of a new president in Kosovo.

“It seems like Kurti is more interested in pushing for new elections than addressing the concerns of the people.”
