Lushaku-Sadriu: Kurti didn’t accept a compromise, drama with signatures to blame someone

Lushaku-Sadriu Attributes Presidential Standoff to Kurti’s Inflexibility

Kosovo’s ongoing deadlock over the election of a president is largely attributed to Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s lack of compromise, according to Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) MP Jehona Lushaku-Sadriu. Speaking on Debat Plus, Lushaku-Sadriu asserted that the LDK has consistently advocated for a president who embodies integrity, ensuring both institutional balance and the independent exercise of their responsibilities. “We wanted a president with integrity that guarantees balance,” Lushaku-Sadriu stated.

“Kurti’s inflexibility in refusing to pursue a consensus or political agreement has effectively prevented an agreement’s formation.”

Lushaku-Sadriu further criticized what she described as a “political drama” orchestrated by Kurti, specifically referencing developments surrounding signatures. “These dramas around the signatures are just drama, to blame someone for it,” she explained. The impasse centers on disagreements regarding the collection of electoral mandates, with Prime Minister kurti maintaining firm positions.

The LDK continues to insist on a president capable of upholding constitutional principles and fostering stability within Kosovo’s institutions. The path forward remains uncertain as negotiations continue.
