According to mortality data compiled by the State Entity of Statistics, the total number of recorded deaths in 2025 reached 20,287 individuals, marking a slight increase of 0.4% compared to the previous year. Analysis of the data indicates that male deaths constituted the larger portion, totaling 10,498, compared to 9,789 recorded for females. Furthermore, the data highlighted 62 infant deaths, which accounted for 0.3% of the overall mortality figures.

Examining the temporal patterns, January recorded the highest number of deaths at 2,002, while April saw the lowest count at 1,506. Regarding demographic profiles, the analysis of average age revealed a disparity between genders. The average age at death for males was reported at 72.2 years, whereas the average age for females was 76.6 years, representing a difference of 4.4 years.

The primary causes of death in the Republic of Macedonia are statistically dominated by cardiovascular diseases, which accounted for 34.0% of all fatalities. Neoplasms followed as the second leading cause at 19.6%. Other significant contributors included endocrine, nutritional, and metabolic diseases, responsible for 6.5%, alongside other recorded causes of death.
