A Kosovo national was stopped in North Macedonia after police officers observed him driving a vehicle significantly above the posted speed limit on the A1 highway. The individual was reportedly traveling at 220 kilometers per hour, which substantially exceeds the authorized speed of 120 kilometers per hour on that route. According to an announcement from the MPB, the 36-year-old driver, identified as Sh.Z., was stopped at approximately 8:41 AM at the parking area near Milekovë.
The apprehension was conducted by officers from the SPB police unit in Strumica and the DPB of Gjevgjeli. The vehicle in question bore Kosovo license plates. Police stated that the driver exceeded the permitted speed limit by a margin of 100 kilometers per hour.
As a result of this incident, criminal charges are expected to be filed against him for negligent driving. The incident underscores ongoing enforcement efforts regarding traffic safety standards on major roadways connecting the region.
