Mexhiti: Me Ligjin për përfaqësim të drejtë dhe adekuat i japim fund epokës së zgjidhjeve gjysmake

Izet Mexhiti, Mayor of Komuna e Çairit, stated that the approval of the ‘Law on Just and Adequate Representation’ by the Republic of Northern Macedonia’s government marks the end of a prolonged period of informal solutions. Mexhiti asserts that the new legislation establishes a clear legal framework and implements control and accountability mechanisms. “With the government’s approval of the Law on Just and Adequate Representation, we are concluding an era of makeshift solutions, improvisation, and mechanisms that for years created injustice, uncertainty, and harm for Albanian citizens,” Mexhiti wrote.

For a significant time, the municipality operated with temporary measures instead of a formal system. The law aims to address issues of selectivity and resulting disillusionment. The process was undertaken not to maintain the status quo, but to establish a more reliable and equitable system.
