Mimoza Kusari-Lila Criticizes Opposition’s Lack of Presidential Proposals
Pristina – Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, has expressed concerns regarding the ongoing impasse surrounding the presidential election, urging a swift resolution to avoid potential electoral consequences. Speaking following a government meeting on April 20, 2026, Kusari-Lila stated that the government believes new elections are unnecessary. The minister asserted that all initiatives to address the situation have originated from Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the Vetëvendosje Movement.
“I hope that there will be an agreement today,” she stated. “Throughout this period, it has only been Prime Minister Kurti, the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, that has presented proposals.”
Kusari-Lila emphasized the significant financial and political costs associated with further elections. She called for a negotiated solution, suggesting that the opposition had not offered viable alternatives or initiatives to resolve the issue.
The statement reflects the government’s position that a collaborative approach is essential to stabilize the political landscape and prevent destabilizing electoral processes. Further developments are anticipated as parties continue discussions aimed at reaching a consensus.
