Ministers visited the village of Sojevë, seeking solutions for recurring floods.

The acting Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Dimal Basha, accompanied by the acting Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning, and Infrastructure, Fitore Pacolli, recently visited the village of Sojevë in Ferizaj. Their inspection focused specifically on the M25.3 road to assess the recurring issues caused by significant flooding. According to a statement released by the ministry, the M25.3 road frequently becomes impassable due to accumulated water.

This recurring blockage presents substantial difficulties for local citizens and businesses, in addition to causing continuous structural damage to the surrounding infrastructure. The ministerial delegation visited the site to conduct preliminary assessments of the damage. Officials noted that initial evaluations point to a primary contributing factor: the alteration of natural water flow patterns resulting from uncontrolled construction activities.

This disruption, the ministry stated, is directly linked to the frequent flooding incidents and subsequently increases the overall cost and complexity of routine road maintenance. The visit underscores the pressing need to address the underlying causes of the flooding rather than solely managing the aftermath. Experts suggest that managing water diversion and regulating construction near natural drainage paths are critical steps necessary to safeguard the integrity of the local transportation network and mitigate future disruptions to the community.
