Kosovo’s fuel prices remain significantly higher than those in surrounding nations, with diesel averaging 1.89 euros per liter, gasoline at 1.46 euros per liter, and gas at 0.77 euros per liter. This disparity is primarily attributed to elevated costs associated with derivative products. Several factors contribute to Kosovo’s higher fuel prices.

Transportation and logistical expenses are notably greater compared to neighboring countries. Furthermore, the cost of the raw materials used to produce fuel – the derivative products – plays a substantial role in determining the final price. These higher prices extend beyond regional comparisons.

Kosovo’s fuel costs exceed those found in Iran, Russia, and the United States, all due to similar considerations regarding derivative product expenses. Industry analysts point to a complex web of economic factors influencing these prices, with supply chains and production costs ultimately driving the figures observed within Kosovo. The current situation reflects a challenge for consumers and businesses operating within the country.
