NATO Chief: For a dance, two people are needed; Zelensky is ready to dance, but Putin is not

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte addressed reporters in Brussels this morning, preceding a gathering of defense ministers from the alliance scheduled for later today. Rutte maintained an optimistic outlook, characterizing the alliance as a cohesive unit, including the participation of the United States. During the press briefing, he addressed several topics, including questions concerning Donald Trump and China’s support for Russia.

A significant portion of the discussion focused on the war in Ukraine. In conjunction with the G7 nations, Rutte provided an assessment of the latest developments on the front lines. The NATO chief stated, “We see that Ukraine is capable of killing or severely wounding between 30,000 and 35,000 people per month.

Of course, these are truly staggering, terrible figures for the families etc. of the Russian armed forces, but Ukraine did not ask for this. They must defend themselves.”

When pressed about potential timelines for an end to the conflict, Rutte offered his perspective, detailing the ongoing commitment of NATO members to support Ukraine’s defense efforts.

The discussions underscore the alliance’s continued focus on bolstering Ukraine’s military capabilities while navigating complex geopolitical challenges involving Russia and its allies.
