Lezhë Municipality Mayor Pjerin Ndreu has issued a statement addressing numerous citizen complaints regarding the pricing structure of sun loungers on the local beaches. Ndreu confirmed that the municipality has identified instances of alleged overcharging and stated that immediate corrective measures have been implemented. He noted that following the public dissemination of complaint channels, the municipality has received a significant volume of grievances, which it is actively investigating on a case-by-case basis to resolve concrete issues.
The mayor emphasized the public nature of a substantial portion of the area. According to Ndreu, approximately 66 percent of Lezhë’s coastline is classified as a public beach, which citizens can access either free of charge or with minimal associated fees, as these areas fall under the management of Lezha Invest. Furthermore, Ndreu provided clarification concerning the distinction between public and private beach facilities.
He stated that beaches associated with hotels are primarily designated for the use of their registered clientele. Therefore, citizens utilizing these specific facilities should do so with an understanding of their designated purpose. These remarks serve to guide the public regarding appropriate usage and pricing expectations across the municipality’s varied beach areas.
The mayor’s proactive response aims to restore confidence by directly addressing the concerns raised in the complaints.
