Skopje and Ohrid Airports Demonstrate Regional Leadership – Nikolloski Reports
Skopje and Ohrid airports are currently recognized as leading aviation hubs within the region, according to recent international assessments. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikolloski highlighted the Skopje International Airport’s continued success, announcing a 32 percent growth in passenger numbers compared to the same period in the preceding year. The announcement, made on Nikolloski’s Facebook profile, detailed that the airport maintains its position as the foremost transportation center across the region.
Despite a projected decrease of approximately 6,000 seats – attributed to the evolving geopolitical situation in the Middle East – the airport has offered over 390,000 new seats. Nikolloski emphasized the airport’s robust performance within the broader regional context. The continued growth underscores investments and operational improvements at the skopje airport.
Further data regarding passenger traffic and route expansions will be released in the coming months. The Ministry of Transport continues to monitor and support the development of the region’s aviation infrastructure.
