Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani stated that the United Nations’ engagement with the region requires review, specifically in relation to Serbia. She emphasized the need for the United Nations to be more actively involved in ongoing processes. During a recent address, Osmani referenced support received following the Banjska incident, stating that “America has been by our side.” She indicated that institutions within Kosovo are keenly aware of the level of support provided.
Osmani further detailed the responsiveness of international partners, recalling a specific instance where numerous calls were made early in the morning. She noted which entities offered assistance and which cut off communication. The President’s comments underscore the importance of continued international collaboration as Kosovo navigates complex political challenges.
She reiterated the necessity of the United Nations’ participation in shaping the future direction of the country’s relationship with Serbia.
