OVL-UÇK letter to institutions and international organizations: Withdraw support for the publication “Massacres in Kosovo.”

The OVL-UÇK has issued a letter to various institutions and international organizations, requesting a retraction of their support for the publication “Massacres in Kosovo.” This action follows a recent protest held before the Kosovo Parliament. Organizations originating from the UÇK during the war have taken further steps concerning the controversial book. The Organization of UÇK War Veterans (OVL UÇK) formally sent a public letter to a number of entities that aided in the publication’s release.

The aim is to remove their names from any association with the project. Specifically, the letter was directed to the Community Development Fund (CDF), the Embassy of Sweden in Kosovo, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund (RBF), the Institute of International Education (IIE), and the U.S. Department of State.

This move reflects ongoing concerns surrounding the content of “Massacres in Kosovo 1998–1999.” The OVL UÇK believes the publication unfairly represents events in Kosovo. The organizations involved have been asked to publicly disavow their prior support for the work. This action underscores the continued sensitivity surrounding this issue within Kosovo.
