Kumanova Residents Experiencing Increased Allergic Reactions and Asthma Symptoms
Kumanova, North Macedonia, is seeing a rise in both allergic reactions and asthma symptoms across all age groups. According to Dr. Nora Gospodinova-Nikolovska, a specialist in internal medicine at the Kumanova General Hospital’s Asthma Center, emergency services are frequently operating at full capacity, particularly during periods of high pollen concentrations.
Dr. Gospodinova reported that the center typically handles 20 scheduled appointments daily. However, this number often increases by 10 to 15 additional patients arriving with urgent referrals.
A common challenge for patients is distinguishing between allergies and colds. Healthcare providers emphasize the importance of accurate diagnosis to ensure appropriate treatment. The situation highlights a growing concern for respiratory health within the Kumanova community.
