Rrustemi Says Over 62% Vote Needed to Secure Kosovo President Role
Prishtina – Former Vetëvendosje Movement MP, Adnan Rrustemi, has stated that achieving a significant electoral victory for the Vetëvendosje Movement on June 7th is crucial to resolving the ongoing challenge surrounding the election of the President of Kosovo. Speaking to Gazeta Express, Rrustemi emphasized the importance of a strong mandate for the movement. He asserted that securing over 62.2% of the vote is essential to guaranteeing the election of the president without facing political obstruction.
This threshold, according to Rrustemi, would likely result in the Vetëvendosje Movement holding approximately 70 seats within the Parliament. Rrustemi believes that such a substantial result, coupled with the support of at least 10 deputies representing minority communities, would establish the necessary majority to prevent blockades during the presidential selection process. He indicated that this outcome would effectively eliminate potential political hurdles.
The upcoming elections, Rrustemi stated, represent a key opportunity to ensure a clear path forward for the position of president.
