LDK-së, led by Ermal Sadiku, announced the party’s decision not to vote for the resignation of President Vjosa Osmani and will not be fielding a candidate for the upcoming leadership election within the League of Social Democrats (LVV-së). This stance follows the party’s rejection of a proposal advocating for a 30-year prison sentence. Sadiku stated that the process surrounding President Osmani’s resignation is escalating and that the current circumstances present an opportunity for change.
He emphasized the LDK-së’s commitment to prioritizing stability and the preservation of the state. “It is a matter of principle that Kurti should have been in the 84-85, not in the 15, which is the 15th vote for Vjosa Osmani, not to be a candidate, not to support the proposal for the 30-year prison sentence,” Sadiku explained. The LDK-së’s position reflects a calculated approach, prioritizing political stability over supporting the specific proposal.
The party intends to exercise its vote strategically to ensure the continued functioning of the government.
