Gunshots Reported in Kacanik; Investigation Leads to Arrest
Kacanik, Albania – On April 27, 2026, at approximately 8:15 PM, Kacanik police responded to reports of gunfire in the Bajnice village area of Kacanik. Initial reports indicated an incident involving an unknown vehicle firing AK-47 assault rifles. Reactive and investigative units were dispatched to the scene, where it was determined that individuals in a dark-colored Jeep, registered locally, had entered the mountainside near Bajnice.
Witnesses reported approximately two magazines were discharged into the air. Following a thorough examination of the area, police recovered 49 cartridge casings. Subsequently, the suspected vehicle was located in a local parking lot.
As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old individual was taken into custody. The Kacanik police station’s investigative unit is continuing to gather information and pursue leads related to the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
