U.S. Forces Have Recovered Pilot Following F-15 Crash in Iran
U.S. forces have successfully recovered one of the pilots from an American F-15 fighter aircraft that crashed in Iran’s southern region on Friday.
President Donald Trump announced the rescue on Sunday morning via social media, describing the operation as “one of the bravest rescue missions in our nation’s history.”
The pilot is now reported to be safe and unharmed, although a subsequent post from President Trump indicated he sustained “serious injuries.”
Two members of the flight crew ejected from the stricken aircraft. Initial reports from foreign media outlets, relayed by Telegrafi, stated that both pilots ejected. One pilot was immediately rescued by U.S.
forces. Iranian officials stated that the fighter jet was downed by the country’s air defense system. The circumstances surrounding the crash are currently under investigation.
