North Mitrovica – Authorities are investigating a fraud incident that occurred yesterday afternoon on “Çeta e Minatorëve” street, resulting in a resident losing 500 euros. The victim, a local resident, became involved in a scam orchestrated via SMS. According to initial reports, the victim received a message on her mobile phone claiming her bank cards had expired and requesting her personal data.
Believing the message to be legitimate, she provided her card details and personal identification number. Shortly thereafter, 500 euros were fraudulently withdrawn from her account. An investigation has been launched in collaboration with the prosecutor’s office, and the case is currently under active investigative procedures.
Law enforcement officials are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and working to determine the full extent of the operation.
