The $5 billion empire of Kim Kardashian is being sued by a stylist for allegedly stealing her name.

New York Designer Files Lawsuit Against ‘Skims’ Over Name Dispute

A New York-based designer is pursuing legal action against the “Skims” fashion brand, owned by Kim Kardashian and valued at approximately five billion dollars (4.26 billion euros). The lawsuit alleges that the “Skims” product line adopted a name substantially similar to that of the existing business, “Fits Everybody To A T.”

The complaint, filed with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, asserts that “Skims” launched its “Fits Everybody” collection despite receiving “repeated and clear warnings” regarding the name’s use.

“Fits Everybody To A T” claims it secured the rights to the name several years prior to the launch of the contested “Skims” line. Documents indicate that the “Skims” brand generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue from the collection. The lawsuit centers on the claim that “Skims” disregarded prior warnings and proceeded with the use of the name, capitalizing on a brand already established with that moniker.

The case highlights a potential conflict between established and emerging fashion brands. Kim Kardashian’s “Skims” has not yet publicly addressed the lawsuit.
