Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Peja Reports Significant Asset Seizures

The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Peja has announced a successful period of investigative and operational activity undertaken between January and March 2026, resulting in the seizure of substantial assets. The initiative, aimed at combating crime and bolstering the rule of law within the region, yielded a considerable amount of illicit goods and currency. During this timeframe, authorities seized twenty vehicles suspected of involvement in or financing illegal activities.

In addition to the vehicles, a total of 49 kilograms of gold, 622 grams of diamonds, and 424 grams of silver were confiscated. Furthermore, the basic prosecution unit recovered a diverse collection of currency, totaling 13,145 euros, 2,320 Swiss francs, 2,400 US dollars, 1,100 Czech koruna, 2,900 Swedish korona, 470 British pounds, 200 Rwandan francs, and 200 Albanian lek. The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Peja highlighted that these outcomes were achieved through diligent investigative work.

The recovered assets are currently undergoing further legal proceedings.
