The CEC: Registration of voters outside Kosovo will begin on May 6th for voting by mail and through diplomatic representation.

CEC Announces Voter Registration Period for Citizens Abroad

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced the commencement of voter registration for Kosovar citizens residing outside of Kosovo. The registration period will run from May 6th to May 17th, 2026, offering two primary methods for eligible voters to participate in the upcoming election. During this 12-day window, Kosovar citizens living abroad can apply to register as voters through online channels.

Voters will have the option to either apply for registration or opt to vote by mail. Alternatively, registration and voting can be conducted through diplomatic representation, as determined by the CEC. According to CEC spokesperson Valmir Elezi, individuals will have the freedom to select their preferred method of voting.

“During this 12-day period (May 6 – May 17, 2026), all Kosovar citizens living abroad can apply to register as voters,” Elezi stated. The CEC emphasized that all Kosovar citizens living outside Kosovo are eligible to participate in the registration process. Further details regarding the application procedures and specific requirements will be available on the CEC’s official website.

The goal of this initiative is to ensure broad participation among Kosovar citizens residing globally.
