The Basic State Prosecution in Pristina has initiated an investigation regarding the significant soil collapse on “Don Shtjefën Kurti” street within the municipality. The primary objective is to determine potential criminal culpability among municipal officials. On March 30, 2026, the Department for Serious Crimes, through its Unit for Investigating Economic and Corruption Crimes, began proceedings.

This action targets responsible officials to evaluate if their conduct or omissions meet the criteria of “Abuse of Position or Authority,” as outlined in Article 414 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo. The collapse of “Don Shtjefën Kurti” street in Pristina is currently causing widespread service disruptions. Consequently, the Prosecution is actively conducting inquiries to gather information.

The State Prosecutor has also authorized specific investigative steps to be taken.
